Information Security Training

As part of Northeastern’s program to enhance its cybersecurity, protect institutional data, and safeguard personal data, all faculty, staff, and sponsored accounts are asked to complete information security training regularly. Training is assigned as a part of employment onboarding and then on an annual basis.

Information security training is completed through the university’s security education platform, in partnership with Proofpoint, and is an important part of the university’s security program.

Information Security Awareness Training

In this training, Security Essentials, learn about or refresh your awareness of common security situations in under 20 minutes. This module focuses on current threats and information relevant to Northeastern’s highly mobile global university community. Data Privacy and Data Classification Training

This training is presented in two modules labeled Data Privacy and Data Classification, and takes under 20 minutes to complete. It focuses on individuals’ role in data privacy, Northeastern’s privacy principles, and the university’s unique way of safeguarding data, the Data Classification Guidelines.
