Security Awareness Training

Information Security Awareness Training

As part of Northeastern’s program to enhance its cybersecurity, protect institutional data, and safeguard personal data, all faculty and staff are asked to complete Information Security Awareness training as part of employment onboarding and then on an annual basis.

Information security awareness training is completed through the university’s security education platform, in partnership with Proofpoint. The training module, labeled Security Essentials, takes under 30 minutes to complete and is an important part of the university’s security program.

In this training, learn about or refresh your awareness of common security situations. This module focuses on current threats and information relevant to Northeastern’s highly mobile global university community. For more resources on staying current with cybersecurity trends and knowledge, visit the university’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month education page.

If you need any technical assistance accessing the university’s security education platform, please review this knowledge article. The IT Service Desk is also available at 617.373.HELP [4357] or at help@northeastern.edu.

This training will only appear on your Proofpoint homepage if you’ve been assigned by the Office of Information Security. For any questions about enrollment, reach out to OIS@northeastern.edu.

Thank you for your participation!
